Covid19 Update from Expert Immunologist

An Update Regarding the Coronavirus
From Dr. Martin Dubravec on June 11, 2021:

Fact:
More questions are being raised with regard to COVID-19 vaccinations and reporting of the rate of COVID-19 infection in patients who have received the vaccines.  These cases are called “breakthrough cases”.    The CDC reported that it will not be keeping track of people who get COVID-19 after they have been vaccinated unless they are hospitalized or die of COVID-19.  In part because of this the CDC admitted that “the number of reported COVID-19 vaccine breakthrough cases is likely a substantial undercount of all SARS-CoV-2 infections among fully vaccinated persons”.

Comment/Opinion:
The CDC is once again compromising its credibility (or further ruining it) by vastly undercounting the number of patients who get COVID-19 after vaccination.  How are we to know how effective the vaccines are if we are not accurately looking at those who have gotten sick?  The overwhelming majority of patients who get COVID-19 never get hospitalized.  Therefore, most of the breakthrough cases will not be accounted for.  Could there be concerns that the vaccines are not very effective (or effective at all)?  If people are to trust what comes out of the CDC, then the data coming from the CDC should be accurate.  At least we can be thankful that they have described their own lack of accuracy with regard to the data they produce.
